What the 2026 Codes Changed — and Why It Matters More Now
The old knock on RTM was that only highly engaged patients qualified: you needed 16+ days of patient data (CPT 98977) and 20+ minutes of management time (98980) per month. In 2026, CMS added two codes that cover everyone else:
- CPT 98985 pays ~$51 for just 2–15 days of data in a 30-day period.
- CPT 98979 pays ~$26 for 10–19 minutes of monthly management.
